A Champions Affair: An Evening to Celebrate & Give Back
The recent fundraiser hosted by the Amenia-Wassaic Community Organization was an overwhelming success, bringing the local community together for a night filled with excitement, generosity, and celebration. Held on the grounds of the Silo Ridge Masters, the event was a shining example of what can be accomplished when neighbors come together to support a common cause.
Co-chairs Celia Sutherland and Allyson Hamedl expertly guided the evening, creating an atmosphere that was both festive and meaningful. With the legendary Mark Messier and Silo Ridge’s own Jamie Vitiello serving as the dynamic auctioneers, the crowd was not only engaged, but truly energized as the bidding wars heated up. Their charisma and wit kept everyone on the edge of their seats, driving up donations and ensuring the success of the event. The event raised vital funds for local initiatives, while also celebrating the contributions of the community’s champions.
Guests were treated to live entertainment, gourmet hors d’oeuvres, and interactive food stations, which made the evening feel like a true celebration of local culture and cuisine. The sense of camaraderie was palpable as neighbors and friends mingled, shared stories, and worked together to support the Amenia-Wassaic area.
Powered by the Silo Ridge Community Foundation, the event not only raised significant funds but also fostered a renewed sense of connection within the community. It was a beautiful reminder that when we come together, we can make a real impact—celebrating our champions and giving back to the community that we all love.
This unforgettable night left everyone feeling inspired, proud, and more committed than ever to making a difference in their own backyard. A heartfelt thank you to all who attended, bid, and volunteered—your support ensures the continued success of our community initiatives.

Dog Therapy Program
We are so excited to partner with the Silo Ridge Community Foundation, Amenia- Wassaic Community Organization & Boots & Paws to bring therapy dogs to our schools. After our first visit, students were beaming with joy. Research has shown therapy dogs in classrooms can provide increased reading and language skills, social and emotional gains, and improved gross motor skills. We can’t wait to continue this partnership to give this wonderful opportunity to our students.
Amanda Coppola, Webutuck Central School District
We are excited to announce the launch of the SRCF & AWCO Therapy Dog Program in collaboration with the Webutuck Central School District. This innovative initiative aims to enhance the well-being of students from Kindergarten to 4th grade, with plans to extend its reach to middle and high school students as the program progresses. We recognize the profound impact that animals, particularly therapy dogs, can have on mental health and overall student development. Through this program, we aim to provide a supportive and comforting environment for students, fostering emotional resilience and academic success.

Silo Ridge Partnership with Webutuck Students Work Based Learning Program
In 2023, the Silo Ridge Community Foundation, Amenia Wassaic Community Organization and Silo Ridge Field Club partnered with Webutuck High School Students Work Based Learning Program. The program started in our culinary sector of the club, learning from the front and back of house in the food and beverage industry. This is will open a path from here to give students the opportunity to gain life skills that will carry with them wherever they may go in life. Other areas of study will include philanthropy, horticulture, agriculture, finance, landscaping and more. We are pleased to work with the students and the district, the children are our future!
“Silo Ridge is one of the many business partners in our community that provides quality learning opportunities for Webutuck Students enrolled in the Work Based Learning Program. Students who participate in the program go out to many different businesses where they learn and explore different career paths. What better way to learn about a career then speak to someone who lives and breathes that profession every day. Students learn hands on from professionals in a field of interest and learn basic employment skills and strengthen the abilities the student already possesses. Local businesses like Silo Ridge provide an invaluable experience for our students and shape the future workforce.” –Jonathan Scarinzi – Special Education Teacher

2023 Hudson Valley Rodeo
The 2023 Hudson Valley Rodeo was an incredible success for the Silo Ridge Field Club and for the members of our community. The goal of the Hudson Valley Rodeo was to bring an event of such authenticity to the Amenia & Wassaic area that is powered by the Silo Ridge Community Foundation to support the Amenia Wassaic Community Organization.
Leland and team joined us from Montana and had many riders both in state and out of state bull riding, barrel racing and much more. Helicopter fly overs following the National Anthem, local non-profit involvement, vendors, first responders, children from the local schools all came together to make the day memorable. The Grammy nominated performer, Walker Hayes, was chosen as he brings such positivity in his music, showing his love for family, community, his faith and bringing peace to all. Walker met with many attendees and showed how truly humble he was off stage. We have heard chatter in the town that this was the best rodeo to date and we look forward to seeing what 2024 has to bring.
Thank you for your presence and if you were not there this year, we look forward to seeing you next year.
Of course, a little bit of country is good for the soul!
